Daily Itinerary

Collapse

In the morning, your driver and guide will pick you up at your hotel. Then you will drive 4 hours from Chengdu to Siguniang Mountain.

After noon, you will visit Shuangqiao Valley (2,900m-3,840m). Shuangqiao Valley is one of the three valleys on the left of the Siguniang Mountain Scenic Area. It's the valley with the richest scenery and is most suitable for mass tourism, for a length of more than 40 kilometers. Here, you can enjoy multiple snow mountains, forests, meadows, and streams. You can take a sightseeing car at the entrance to the top - redwood forest and then trek back downstream, following the river on a well-paved boardwalk.

Today you will trek to Changping Valley (3,200m), where Siguniang Mountain is located. It's the middle of the three valleys, with a total length of 29km.

In the morning, you will take a sightseeing car to the Lama Temple (5km). Under the snowy mountains, the Tibetan architecture of its white walls and golden top guards the holy and tranquility of the Four Girls Mountain. This is also the starting point of your hike. You can overlook the Siguniang Mountains here: Yaomei Peak (6,250m), Sanfeng (5,355m), Erfeng (5,276m), and Dafeng (5,025m). Along the way, you will see slender waterfalls, a stretch of withered trees on the riverbank, and Red Stone Array.

Passing through the ever-flowing river and layers of forest beneath the snow-capped mountains, you will finally arrive at Muluozi, which is a meadow surrounded by high mountains, with herds of cows and sheep, and the charm of Siguniang Mountain is all in your eyes. After enjoying the scenery, you can trek back to the starting point and then take the sightseeing bus back. If you get tired during the trekking, you can also rent a horse or yak in the scenic area and ride through the primitive forest.

Optional: You can choose to return back to Chengdu or continue to trek in Haizi Valley on Day 3.

Haizi Valley is the most characteristic and original, with the highest elevation among the three valleys, as the latter part of the valley reaches an altitude of approximately 4,200 meters. The first half of the trekking route is dominated by alpine meadows, offering a close-up view of icy lakes and snowy landscapes. At the foot of the mountains, you can fully experience the majestic beauty of nature. It is the best spot to admire Siguniang Mountain and an ideal location for photography enthusiasts to capture its splendor.

The later part of the trekking trail primarily features alpine lakes, with more than ten high-altitude lakes scattered throughout the valley. These lakes are especially tranquil and serene, reflecting the green mountains and blue skies in their crystal-clear waters. Many precious living fossils of ancient fish species are also preserved here. After taking in the beauty of Dahaizi and Huahaizi, you will return to Siguniangshan Town.

Then, you will visit Wolong Panda Base, which is home to over 90 giant pandas. It accounts for approximately 50% of the total population of captive giant pandas worldwide. Here, you can see pandas eating bamboo, rolling, climbing trees, playing with water, etc., up close.
