If tourists are coming for Mount Everest, the best time to visit is from April to June or September to October. During July and August, it's the monsoon season and the peak of Mt.Everest would likely be shrouded in rain and fogged. In the winter between November and April, you may encounter heavy snow to block the roads.
How far is it from Lhasa to Shigatse?
There're two routes from Lhasa to Shigatse, the southern route and the northern route. The distance of the southern route is 340km, which takes 7 hours. En route, you can visit Yamdrok Lake, Karola Glacier, Pelkor Chode Monastery, etc. And the northern route is 270km, taking 5 hours' ride. En route, you will see the Yarlung Zangbo River Valley. Usually, we will go both routes.
