Nyingchi is located in the southeastern part of Tibet, with a warm and humid climate, and the scenery of the four seasons is different. From March to April, Nyingtri is well known for the peach blossoms spread out everywhere over the hills and plains. How to get to Nyingchi?

There are 3 ways to get to Nyingtri: one is to fly to Lhasa first and then take a tourist bus to Nyingchi, which is the most classic way. Starting from June 25, 2021, the Lhasa-Nyingchi railway was put into operation so you can also take the train to Nyingchi from Lhasa now. The second way is to fly directly to Nyingchi from Chengdu, Chongqing or Kunming. Compared to flying to Lhasa(3650m), flying to Nyingchi(2980m) is relatively easy to adapt to the altitude so this way is quite popular among older and younger travelers. The last option is to travel overland from Chengdu via the G318 highway to Tibet, a unique in-depth road trip adventure.

No.1 Namcha Barwa

Namcha Barwa peak is known as the Shy Girl Peak. Its huge triangular-shaped body is covered by heavy snow and shrouded in mist all year round, never revealing its true colors easily. It would be a blessing to be able to see the face of Namcha Barwa.

No.2 Lulang Forest

Lulang, a place with snowy mountains, meadows, villages, and houses surrounded by stone fences and tree branches. From a distance, it looks like a primitive tribe, and it is completely integrated with the surrounding natural environment. It's a land of idyllic beauty.

No.3 Peach Blossoms Valley

Peach Blossom Valley is surrounded by mountains on three sides. The surrounding forests are verdant all year round, with gurgling water from the hills. In March and April each year, the snow-capped glaciers are set against the tall peach blossoms, making Nyingtri have a pure, natural and magnificent beauty.

No.4 Draksum-tso

In Tibetan, it means "green water". The lake is like a green orb in the forest, with a delicate central island. There's different scenery throughout the year. Draksum-tso Lake Scenic Area integrates snow-capped mountains, lakes, forests, waterfall, pastures, cultural relics and historic sites. It's a famous sacred lake and holy land of the Red Sect of Tibetan Buddhism.

No.5 Bend of the Yarlung Tsangpo River

Glaciers, cliffs, steep slopes, running waves, and huge rivers are intertwined in the entire canyon area, and the environment is very harsh. Many areas are still unattended, and they can be called "the last mystery on earth." Only a few parts of this scenic are now open to tourists.
